We want every client to be happy with our work. This policy explains when a refund is available, what is not refundable, and how to request one. It applies to all services purchased from Markup Valley LLC through markupvalley.com or an invoice we send you.
1. The Short Version
- If we haven't started your work yet, you can get a full refund of our service fee.
- Once work has started, we refund the part of the service fee for work not yet done.
- Once a filing has been submitted to the IRS or a state agency, the service fee for that filing is no longer refundable — but if the filing is rejected because of our mistake, we fix and refile it for free.
- Government fees and card processing fees are never refundable once paid.
2. Before Work Begins — Full Refund
If you cancel before we begin working on your order, we will refund 100% of our service fee. "Work begins" means we have started preparing your documents, submitted anything on your behalf, or paid a government fee for you.
3. After Work Begins — Partial Refund
If you cancel after work has started but before we submit anything to a government agency, we will refund the portion of the service fee for work not yet completed. We will tell you clearly what has been done and what the refundable amount is. For multi-service packages, each service in the package is assessed separately.
4. After Submission — No Refund, But We Stand Behind Our Work
Once we submit a filing to the IRS, a state, or another agency, the service fee for that filing is non-refundable, because the work has been delivered. However:
- If a filing is rejected because of an error on our side, we will correct and refile it at no extra cost.
- If a filing is rejected because of the government's own processes or because of incorrect information provided to us, we will explain your options; refiling in that case may involve an additional fee.
- Approval and processing times are decided by the government. A slow IRS or state response is not grounds for a refund of work we have completed.
5. What Is Never Refundable
- Government fees — state filing fees, IRS fees, and similar charges, once we have paid them on your behalf.
- Card processing fees — the 3.5% card fee shown at checkout.
- Completed services — work that has been fully delivered (for example, a formed LLC, an issued EIN, or a filed tax return).
- Subscription periods already used — for recurring services such as registered agent or bookkeeping, the current paid period is not refundable, but you can cancel future renewals at any time before the next billing date.
6. How to Request a Refund
- Email ali@markupvalley.com or message us on WhatsApp with your name, order details, and the reason for the request.
- Please submit refund requests within 30 days of purchase.
- We review every request individually and respond within 5 business days.
- Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method, usually within 5–10 business days depending on your bank.
7. A Note on Chargebacks
Please contact us before opening a dispute with your bank or card company. We resolve almost every issue directly, and a chargeback filed while we are actively working on your order can freeze your services and slow everything down for you.
8. Questions
Not sure whether your situation qualifies? Just ask. Email ali@markupvalley.com, use our contact page, or message us on WhatsApp — we're happy to walk you through it.
